Take Meaningful Actions Towards Peace

Practical Steps for a Shared Future

Learn Arabic and Hebrew

Whether you live in Tel Aviv, Townsville, Tennessee or Toronto, learning Arabic and Hebrew is a great way to interact with Palestinians and Israelis. Not only will this help you avoid misunderstandings often lost in translation, but knowing each one helps build empathy and respect for the rich cultural history of both these Semitic languages. Many places offer language instruction--both online or in person. Two such organisations that come highly recommended are:

This Is Not An Ulpan

TINAU stands out as one of the only language schools in Israel that teaches both Hebrew and Arabic and is run by Jews, Palestinians, locals and newcomers together.

Hold joint events calling for an end to war and promoting non violence as a means to conflict resolution.

Standing Together ( עומדים ביחד,  نقف معًا) is an Israeli grassroots movement that aims to bring together Arab Israeli and Jewish Israeli communities in the struggle for Israeli-Palestinian peace, equality and social justice. They have branches all over the world who promote actions for equality and justice.

Together for Humanity in the UK offers a valuable guide on planning and facilitating a multifaith peace vigil in your community

Suspend disbelief and engage in political imagination by reading about a movement that seeks to create Two States, One Homeland.

A Land for All is a shared movement of Israelis and Palestinians who believe that the way towards peace, security and stability for all passes through two independent states, Israel and Palestine, within a joint framework allowing both peoples to live together and apart.

Recognizing that both Jews and Palestinians are part of the same shared homeland, and respecting their equal individual and national rights, A Land for All provides pragmatic and viable solutions to the obstacles that have stymied prior negotiations, moving us from a paradigm of separation towards a future based on power sharing and shared interests.

Support Israelis and Palestinian suffering from war and give them hope that they are not alone.

Hostages and Missing Families Forum

Formed less than 24 hours after the horrific Hamas attack on Israeli villages and towns on October 7th, 2023, The Hostages and Missing Families Forum is a civil, volunteer-based organization with no political affiliation, focused on bringing loved ones back home by any means necessary through all available channels. The forum includes thousands of volunteers, from the families themselves to senior figures in the security, judicial, communication, advertising, creative, and diplomatic sectors.

Medical Aid for Palestinians

Medical Aid for Palestinians (MAP) works for the health and dignity of Palestinians living under occupation and as refugees.

They provide immediate medical aid to those in great need, while also developing local capacity and skills to ensure the long-term development of the Palestinian healthcare system.

Have You Seen the Horizon Lately

The three aims of this hopeful organization are to: promote political partnerships between Jewish and Arab parties in the Knesset; fight against  anti-democratic legislation; and promote the ideas that the Israeli-Palestinian conflict is solvable.

The organization specializes in conveying clear and meaningful messages through public initiatives and high-impact campaigns that change narratives and shape the main discourse. Their work, based on research and surveys, is characterized by dynamism and quick response, and is strategically planned to influence both the public sphere and the political system in Israel to grow the constituency for peace and democracy.

Hand in Hand Schools

What began with 50 Arab and Jewish children in 1998, has now grown to a robust network of six schools with over 2,000 students, and thousands of families throughout the country. In every location where they have a school, their growing communities are trailblazing shared living in the face of tribal conflict and division. Their mission is to grow, and build a Hand in Hand school in every mixed Jewish-Arab city throughout the country, leveraging a shift from conflict to cooperation for all of Israeli society.
